Good morning Susan,

Nancy and I were up in Illinois again yesterday and got a chance to visit my mom now that she's situated and I gotta say she seemed like her good old self with hardly anything dementia-like in her attitude and interaction with us.. It was amazing ..rather than leaving her with everyone in tears trying to work through her extreme dementia of a few weeks ago, we left your place with tears of happiness.. She seems honestly at home in her apartment in just a few days time..even telling us she spent time out on the veranda enjoying a sunny day ..which she really didn't do a lot of when in assisted living..We personalized her place with family photos and things she had at her old place to dress up her walls.   Anyway from all of my family thanks to you and Cynthia for ushering this move to the Atrium and your confidence in her to be able to adapt to your home and once again enjoy life even at 99 years!!

Sincerely,   Bob

My sister-in-law moved into The Atrium at Oak Crest Residence. It is a smaller community. They have staff who are long-term and have been there many years. They welcome the families to be part of the community and visit as often as you'd like. The staff members are very helpful if you have any questions and friendly toward the family. They have a doctor that comes to the community. They have their own beauty spa and a little gift shop. It's just a very friendly, homey, and lovely place. The gardens are very well-kept and clean. You can either get a one-bedroom little apartment or a studio apartment. My sister-in-law has a studio, which is just fine because it's a nice size and has room for sitting chairs, bed, refrigerator, desk area, bathroom, and closet. It's very comfortable and spacious. The food is excellent. You can eat there on Wednesdays, so the family can come and eat with their residents. They have movies, crafts, and puzzles. The price is reasonable and not overly priced. They do not take Medicaid.

What our families think….

  • Great group of people that are very attentive to the residents. They have gone above and beyond to take care of my mother

  • Way Above Expectations! We brought my Mom to the Atrium at Oak Crest just a few weeks ago and we have been impressed by the facility, the food and the staff. The resident rooms are well kept and much larger than similar facilities. Common spaces show the rich history and charm of Oak Crest. The food is very good. We have had lunch onsite twice and were amazed at the quality. Most importantly the staff has been amazing. My mom who had withdrawn from almost all social activities is now participating and having fun. And the staff has been fantastic. Caring, friendly and helpful all the time.
